Project Overview:
As part of a nationwide Post Office refit programme, DAW Signs & Fit-Outs were commissioned to deliver a complete refurbishment of the Wester Hailes branch in Edinburgh. This ongoing programme is modernising Post Office branches across the UK. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure the design and fit-out met the high standards expected across the network, creating a modern, functional, and welcoming environment for both staff and customers.
Scope of Work:
- Full interior refurbishment, including counters, signage, and display areas
- Installation of branded wayfinding and directional signage
- Creation of a customer-friendly layout to improve flow and accessibility
- Use of durable, high-quality materials suited to a high-traffic environment
Challenges:
Working within an operational shopping centre, we carefully coordinated installation to minimise disruption to neighbouring stores and ensure a smooth experience for branch visitors, a challenge common across the nationwide programme.
The Result:
The Wester Hailes Post Office now showcases a bright, modern space that aligns perfectly with the Post Office brand. From clear signage to functional counters, every element contributes to a welcoming and efficient customer experience, consistent with the quality delivered across the nationwide refit programme.













Coalville - London

Project Overview:
To better serve the local community, the Coalville branch in London received a modernised counter and updated signage throughout the store. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure the design enhanced customer guidance, visibility, and functionality. These works form part of the nationwide Post Office refit programme, ensuring every branch maintains the same high standards while reflecting the needs of its local environment.
Scope of Work:
- Vinyl wrap applied to the existing service counter
- Installation of branded wayfinding and directional signage
- Replacement of fascia signage to enhance visibility
- Addition of internal signage to improve customer guidance and accessibility
Challenges:
The branch was undergoing a full refit during the project, requiring careful scheduling to coordinate our works with the wider construction and ensure minimal disruption to the store’s operations and customer flow. The project was initially installed and then revisited to complete the works in alignment with the full refurbishment.
The Result:
The Coalville Post Office now features a refreshed, modernised interior that guides customers clearly and efficiently through the branch. From the updated counter and wayfinding to the enhanced fascia and internal signage, every element contributes to a cohesive and welcoming environment, consistent with the quality delivered across the nationwide refit programme.
